April 2010 - Art Week Austin + ACP Exhibit...
ACP + Art Week Austin 2010 Exhibition, Music, and Good Eats at Caffé Medici ACP is collaborating with Art Week Austin to present a print show at Caffé Medici in west Austin. We will be showcasing the work produced by the participants in David Alan Harvey's The Photographic Essay workshop which took place during SXSW 2010.
The photographers developed personal photographic essays over the intensive 5-day workshop.
As this workshop took place during SXSW the artist's photo essays will be paired with written descriptions of their workshop experience with the music of local singer/songwriter Trey Brown. Brown will perform a concert set of his catchy "cosmic folk" music as part of the evening's festivities bringing a hint of the exciting SXSW showcases to the event . We hope to share with you some of the same intensity and sensory saturation that our workshop participants experienced.
Come enjoy Trey's set, party refreshments, and see some great photography from the week of SXSW curated by David Alan Harvey himself.
About the ACP + Art Week Austin Event
Trey Brown has been serving up his surfer-western songwriting sensibilities in Austin since late 2006. In March of 2008, he released his first studio album. The album, Smoke a'Risin', combines Appalachia folk with Americana and the melts the country into the downtown city lights. With a young, solid neat and warm twang, Trey is, according to The Daily Texan, a "promising young artist to keep an eye on." Trey is only 21. Listen for "The Miser" and "Cannon Fodder" for what this critic would claim are his signature songs so far. Visit Trey's web site and sample some of his tunes in advance of this show.
