Went out to a restaurant last weekend with Julie and glance over at the table next to us. I recognize these people right away. They were in this shot that I took back in March 2010 during the David Alan Harvey Workshop that I was taking at the time!!! Do I introduce myself to these people? Do I tell them I have them in a street shot I took of them? How will they react? Julie says to do it at the end of our meal so that there isn't some awkward moment and so we don't have to sit there if the whole situation turns bad. What would you do? At the end of our meal, as we are heading out, I go over to them and show tell them I'm a street photographer and show them this pic on my iPhone. They couldn't have been more elated to know, and loved street photography. I sent them a link to this shot and come to find out he is on his way to a Joyce festival in NYC. He is also quite an accomplished writer himself. You can check out some of his writing here: http://www.blogger.com/profile/02324872987433184257 Before going over to them, I felt so close to these people mostly because I spent so much time pouring over my contact sheets selecting frames to print, and then watching it come up in the developer, and through the wash cycle. This is something that I think gets lost with digital. Yeah, you look at all the details of the shot on the computer, adjust the levels and such. But with a film and printing it's physical... you actually get the dust off it, touch it, wash it. This was a shot that I didn't really care too much about. Mostly, I liked the action that was happening to the left here. What would you do?
